Anthony has been in the electrical contracting/consulting industry for over ten years. At Top Shelf Electric, Anthony is known for his value engineering and cost-savings abilities. As one of the firms VP’s, Anthony is tasked with overseeing the completion of all projects as well as estimating and contributing to the sales and marketing efforts of all projects.
He has worked on all major accounts at Top Shelf, successfully bringing to completion Hamilton Square, the first primary voltage residential building that established its own utility with sub-metering; Liberty Harbor, a huge undertaking that was finished weeks ahead of schedule and under budget; and Ridge Hill, a dynamic and diverse project that featured 1.3 million square feet of retail and entertainment space.
Lenny has been in the electrical contracting/consulting industry for over two decades. With his keen business savvy as an entrepreneur and his expert knowledge of the trade, Lenny is an integral part of Top Shelf’s growth. Over the years, he has received countless accolades from industry heavyweights and satisfied customers. At Top Shelf Electric, he oversees the operations, marketing, financing, and estimating departments of the company.
While at Top Shelf Electric for the past four years, he has worked on some of our most prestigious accounts, including The Tides at Charleston, Gateway IV and Gateway V, as well as the Sea View Senior housing project.
Joe works closely with the operations, marketing, financing, and estimating departments at Top Shelf Electric. His ability to motivate a large group of people to achieve a common goal has been a large part of his successful 16 years in the electrical contracting/consulting industry. He is a visionary who evolves with the times, keeping the company steps ahead of our competition.
Joe played an instrumental role in the success of multiple projects at Top Shelf Electric, including the 80 Broad Street project which was a complete service remediation and relocation of (3) 4000A service distributions which needed to be completed in an excruciating pace due to the building being a victim of Hurricane Sandy. Joe’s work on 80 Broad was responsible for saving the owners millions of dollars. Another large project Joe oversees is the Stapleton Waterfront project in Staten Island, NY. This project consists of (2) mixed use buildings with 571 residential units.
Joe’s key role at Top Shelf is to successfully grow the company’s client base and effectively manage an ever-growing workforce. He holds his New York, New Jersey, and Westchester Electrical Contracting Licenses.
It takes a special professional to keep a business of analytical thinkers organized. Fortunately, Top Shelf Electric has Cathy Askew on their side. For years, Cathy has managed all financial dealing of the company, including banking, billings, records management, and insurance. She is also manages the staff and keeps everyone on their toes. Try as you may, but we guarantee that you can’t get anything past her.
But with her smile and friendly personality, who would want to? Cathy has contributed a great deal to Top Shelf Electric, most notably for her efforts on Liberty Harbor, The Tides at Charleston, and Port Imperial accounts.
Vice President of Business Development
Justin joined TSE after completing his double major from Rutgers University in Economics and Organizational Leadership. Justin is responsible for building the infrastructure at TSE Corp. He is in charge of all internal corporate projects whether it be from implementing new plans and policies such as TSE’s 401K plan or setting up and maintain our NYS Dept. of Labor approved apprenticeship program down to planning all corporate events. As the lead of the new business arm at Top Shelf, Justin is also responsible for all marketing and literature while developing new relationships with new business.
Along with these duties Justin also helps to oversee the completion of large scale TSE projects. Whether on site or in the office, Justin gets the job done. He has worked with TSE’s biggest clients including, Hamilton Square, a design build project that was the first high-voltage residential building in Jersey City. He was also a key part of the Liberty Harbor team, which completed a massive multi-tower project that was finished weeks ahead of schedule and under budget.
Vice President of Operations
Joe has been in the electrical contracting business for over 23 years. After receiving his N.J. Master Electrical License he went on to own a commercial electrical company from 2001-2009. As the VP of Operations Joe along with his team of project managers are responsible for overseeing the many prestigious projects that TSE has completed over the years. Joe has overseen and been personally responsible for many large scale projects over the years.
Some of these projects include the Northside Piers, which was a 30 stories, 270 units residential high rise, 205 Water Street in Brooklyn which was a 12 stories, 65 units project and The Cliffs which was another 120 unit high rise located in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Vice President of Estimating & Preconstruction
Syed graduated in the top 5% of his class (Magna Cum Laude) with 3.9 GPA from NJIT in the year 2000 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He also received Gold Medal for Academic Excellence at NJIT. He was on Dean’s List, President’s List & a member of Tau Alpha Pi Honor Society throughout his college education. He has been teaching Electrical Engineering courses at NJIT since the year 2000. He successfully completed many estimating related courses at NECA & continues to stay up-to-date with the ever changing latest technology such as the Accubid & ConEst estimating software.
Syed has been working in the electrical contracting industry since the year 2000 involved in all different aspects including but not limited to estimating, purchasing & project management. At Top Shelf Electric, Syed is responsible for overseeing the estimating department in producing accurate & timely estimates. Syed handles distribution of estimating work load as well as negotiations & procurement of bids/projects. Syed has successfully estimated different types of projects including but not limited to Residential hi rise & mid-rise, hotels, assisted living facilities, hospitals, municipal buildings, warehouses, office & retail fit-outs, resorts, casinos, restaurants, commercial and industrial projects.
He reviews bids from all estimators at TSE before they are sent out to clients. Syed enjoys teaching, going to movies and spending quality time with family & friends when he is not working.
Vice President of Engineering
Matthew earned his BS in Electrical Engineering from Western New England College and continued on to earn an M.S. in Electrical Power Systems from Polytechnic University of NYU. Matthew is a licensed Professional Engineer in New York, New Jersey & Connecticut. His previous experience includes (12) years as a consulting engineer and (3) years of facility management. Matthew manages and oversees TSE’s Engineering Group which performs the design and pre-construction coordination process for each project. He helps the team with project workflow and engineering guidance among other things.
Vice President of Sales
Blake has been in the telecommunications advisory industry for nearly eight years. Blake and the TSE sales team are responsible for developing and procuring new business opportunities as well as overseeing client project delivery. As VP of Sales for the Telecommunications Division, he is responsible for providing TSE clients with cost effective solutions and remarkable infrastructure services for IT, Audiovisual, Security, Wireless and Cellular.

Director of Manpower and Talent Development
Colin has been in the electrical business for over 32 years. He is a NJ State Licensed Master Electrician with certifications in Electrical Estimating, Electrical Inspector ICS and Effective Supervision. At Top Shelf Electric, Colin is responsible for overseeing our Recruiting and Talent Development departments and movement of manpower and equipment for our numerous projects on a daily basis.
